Client: Komatsu Australia
Wisely was tasked to partner with the OEM Komatsu Australia for the full supply of labour to undertake the first new P&H 4100 XPC-AC Electric Rope Shovel assembly in 6 years on the east coast of Australia.
This new machine assembly had a larger than normal electrical scope with all electrical specifications meeting Australian standards including the changing of imperial to metric wire sizing and specific electrical requirements to meet the customer’s needs. This work normally completed off site was done in parallel to the machine construction.
The Shovel is fitted with the largest dipper on the market at 86yard (63m3) to be engaged in overburden removal paired with Komatsu 930E trucks.
Wisely delivered all execution services for this build including, structural welding, full electrical wiring scope, paint and blast, fitting, scheduling and OHS management. The build was completed with more than 16,000 Wisely man hours recordable injury free. The success of this build galvanises our long-lasting relationship with Komatsu Australia and demonstrates what is achievable, a quality new machine assembly and the safe delivery of a world class asset for the customer.
